About this site What is it? The Cambodia Connection is a free internet-based education programme to help primary, intermediate and secondary students learn about how life in Cambodia has been affected by time and change. The Cambodia Connection was live from February 17th to April 11th 2003. It remains indefinitely as a resource for teachers and students. The Cambodia Connection aims to bring students into contact with a family, community members and World Vision workers in Cambodia, and to help schools make their 40 Hour Famine programmes even more exciting and relevant to students. The Cambodia Connection has three sections - this site, "Take a Walk - Cambodia" for secondary students, plus, "Let's go…to Cambodia" for primary students and "Resource Room" for teachers. Take a walk - Cambodia. On this site students from year 7 to 12 can access a wide range of information on Cambodia, its people and history. The central part of their learning will be an interactive simulation game that provides a stimulus for investigation and discussion, and an authentic framework for a variety of learning tasks. Students can share their responses to what they are learning by creating their own spot on the memory wall. Let's go… to Cambodia On this site year 2 to 8 students can read stories about life in Cambodia, listen to audio conferences, view messages from different family members, and respond with a reply. Students work can also be psoted on the memory wall in the Funzone, which also includes word searches, picture puzzles and quizzes. Resource room This site contains syllabus links, activity ideas and instructions for teachers using the "Let's go" and "Take a walk" sites.
