About the Connection The Cambodia Connection is a free internet-based education programme to help primary, intermediate and secondary students learn about how life in Cambodia has been affected by time and change. We aim to bring students into contact with a family, community members and World Vision workers in Cambodia, and to help schools make their 40 Hour Famine programmes even more exciting and relevant to students. The Cambodia Connection has three sections - this site, "Resource Room" for teachers, plus "Let's go…to Cambodia" for primary students, and "Take a Walk - Cambodia" for secondary students. Let's go... to Cambodia Click here to see the site. From March 3rd to 28th 2003, year 2 to 8 students can read daily stories about life in Cambodia, participate in weekly audio conferences, ask questions online, view messages from different family members, and respond with their own greetings. Take a walk - Cambodia Click here to see the site. From February 17th to April 11th 2003, students from year 7 to 12 can access a wide range of information on Cambodia, its people and history, ask questions of World Vision staff, read regular stories and participate in online discussions. The central part of their learning will be an interactive simulation game that provides a stimulus for investigation and discussion, and an authentic framework for a variety of learning tasks. Resource room From January 2003 this site will contain syllabus links, activity ideas and instructions for teachers using the "Let's go" and "Take a walk" sites. Registered schools will receive passwords for the interactive sections of the websites. Note: While some sections of the Cambodia Connection are only live during Term 1 2003, all three sites will remain online indefinitely as a resource for schools.
