Asking questions
The question section is available from March 3rd to 28th 2003. To ask questions about life in Cambodia, World Vision's work there, the effects of the Cambodia's past, or any other topic for the panel to answer, use the question form on the internet site.
  • This is in "Find Out" and is labelled "Ask a Question".
  • Students (or teachers) fill in their name, school and the question they want to ask.
  • Fill in the password you received when you registered and click "submit".
When the panel has answered the question (probably three days), both the question and its answer will appear on the site. We will put some selected questions on the answer page so everyone can enjoy reading the best questions and their answers. You can also find any question and its answer using "Search" on the answer page, typing in the student's name or the name of your school (as you typed it when you sent your question). You can also search for all questions on a particular topic, using a key word search.

Audio conferences
One of the most exciting parts of the programme will be the audio conferences. Each week, the audio conference will feature a different person. Check the website for information, as it becomes available.

Audio conferences will run live at 2-00pm NZ time on:
Tuesday March 11th    Tuesday March 18th    Tuesday March 25th
The calls, which are national (within New Zealand) toll calls, last about 20 minutes, and you will need a speaker phone so all class members can hear.

All registered schools can listen to the call by dialling the audio conference line and following the instructions you received. You will receive a list of that week's audio conference questions by email or fax the day before the conference. You may wish to give the list to students, with spaces for them to note down the answers.

Speaking schools: For each audio conference, eight speaking schools will be able to submit questions, and then select one student to ask a question live by telephone. If you would like your school to be a speaking school for one of the audio conferences, and have not already sent in the response form, please post or e-mail your request by February 14th 2003 to education.nz@worldvision.org.nz. Speaking schools will receive detailed instructions a few days before their audio conference.

Audio conferences will be re-played the following day at:
9-30am,11-30am, and 2pm, Wednesday 12th, 19th and 26th March 2003.

Audio conferences will also be available on the website:
Several days after each audio conference, we will put the questions and a recording of the answers onto the site, in the Find Out section.

Daily Stories
Check the Daily Stories every weekday to read something new about life in Cambodia. The topics, language level and length will engage younger students' interest.

Sending Greetings
From March 3rd to 28th 2003, students can read greetings from Cambodian family members, and can send their own greetings back. To send a greeting, use the Message Board page in the "Our Story" section. Greetings can be just a few words, or students can attach a picture, poem or other work that they want to share.
  • To send a greeting, save the work as one of the formats listed on the website.
  • Fill in the Send a Greeting form and use the password you received when you registered.
  • Your greeting will appear on the Message Board.

Fun Zone
The Fun Zone puzzles and quizzes are a great way for students to learn, motivating them to look more closely at the information and photos on the website.
